Payment Methods

Last updated:

This page explains how paying for a Gift Meadow order works: where you see the payment options, which currency you pay in, when you are charged, how your payment details are protected, what to do if a payment is declined and how refunds and store credit come back to you. We keep this page short on promises and long on practical detail, because the payment step is where people most want certainty.

Paying in brief

  • Payment options: shown on the checkout page before you confirm your order. We only list a method once it is live and tested.
  • Currency: US dollars (USD) for every order.
  • Shipping: free to the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand — no shipping line to pay.
  • Sales tax: not added at checkout; the total you see is the total we charge.
  • Card details: handled by the payment provider; Gift Meadow never sees or stores full card or account numbers.
  • Refunds: sent to the original payment method within 7 days of your return reaching us, or as store credit that never expires.

1. Which payment options you can use

The payment options available for your order appear in the payment section of the checkout page, after your address and before the “Place order” button. We show only methods that are connected and working: we do not display logos of payment brands we have not set up, and we do not ask for payment by bank transfer, gift cards, cryptocurrency or messaging apps.

Our store is preparing its checkout payment connection. When a payment method is live, it will appear at checkout and be listed on this page by name, with who processes it. If you reach checkout and do not see a payment option you are comfortable with, please do not try to pay another way — email [email protected] and we will tell you what is available. We never send payment links from any address other than our own support address.

2. Currency and what the total includes

All prices on giftmeadow.shop are in US dollars. If you pay with a card or account in Canadian, Australian or New Zealand dollars, your bank or provider converts the amount at its own exchange rate and may add its own foreign transaction fee. That fee is set by your bank, not by us, so check with your bank if you are unsure.

The checkout total includes:

  • the price of each item, including the size you chose (for example a House 28 × 40 in flag or a 36 × 24 in doormat costs more than the smaller sizes);
  • free shipping, shown as $0.00;
  • no sales tax line, because we do not collect sales tax at checkout.

Personalisation itself is included in the product price: typing a family name, a year or the grandkids’ names does not change the price shown on the product page. Parcels to Canada, Australia and New Zealand may attract import duties or taxes set by the destination country; these are not part of our checkout total.

3. When you are charged

You are charged when you place the order and the payment is approved by the provider. Your order confirmation email shows the total. Because every flag, mat and sign is printed for your order, we take payment at the start rather than at shipping.

If we change an order at your request within 24 hours — say from a 24 × 16 in mat to the 30 × 18 in size — and the new total is higher, we send you a separate payment request for the difference. We only print the changed item after you agree and pay. If the new total is lower, we refund the difference within 7 days.

4. How your payment details are protected

  • Every page of giftmeadow.shop, including checkout, uses an encrypted HTTPS connection (look for the padlock in your browser bar).
  • Card and account details are entered into the payment provider’s secure fields or pages and are processed by the provider. We receive only a confirmation that the payment succeeded and basic details such as the payer’s name and billing address.
  • We never ask for your card number, security code, bank login or one-time passcodes by email, chat or phone. If anyone does, it is not us.

5. If your payment is declined

A declined payment usually has a simple cause. Before trying again:

  1. Check that the billing address matches the address your bank has on file, including the ZIP or postal code.
  2. Check the card number, expiry date and security code for typos.
  3. Make sure your bank allows online payments in US dollars; some banks block the first foreign-currency payment until you confirm it in their app.
  4. Try a different payment option shown at checkout, if there is one.

A declined payment does not create an order and nothing is printed. Sometimes a bank shows a temporary hold for a declined attempt; it is released by your bank, usually within a few days. If you are stuck, email us — we can see whether an order exists, but we cannot see why your bank declined.

6. Order checks

To protect customers and the shop from fraud, we may check an order before printing it — for example when the billing and shipping countries differ, or when several orders arrive in a short time with different cards. If we need to confirm something, we email you from [email protected]. If we cannot verify a payment, we cancel the order and refund it in full within 7 days.

7. Taxes and duties

Gift Meadow does not collect sales tax at checkout, so you will not see a tax line on your order. For deliveries to Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the destination country may charge import duties, GST or handling fees depending on its own rules and the value of the parcel. These charges are set and collected by that country, not by us. If you are sending a gift abroad and want to avoid surprises for the recipient, ask us before ordering.

8. Discount codes and store credit

If we offer a discount code, it is entered in the coupon field on the cart or checkout page, and the discount appears in the total before you pay. Only one code can be used per order unless the offer says otherwise. Store credit from a return or cancellation never expires and can be used on any product. If your store credit does not cover the whole order, you pay the remainder with an available payment option.

9. Refunds

Refunds go back to the payment method used for the order and are sent within 7 days of your return reaching us, of a cancellation being confirmed or of a claim being approved. How long the money then takes to appear depends on your bank or provider. If you prefer, we issue store credit instead. The full rules are on the Refund Policy; for sending items back, see Returns & Exchanges.

10. Paying for a gift

You can pay for an order that ships to someone else: enter your billing details for the payment and the recipient’s address for delivery. The order confirmation and any payment emails go to you. Prices are not shown on anything we put in the parcel beyond what the carrier or customs requires, and if the recipient asks us about a return, refunds are sent to your payment method unless you ask us to give the recipient store credit instead.

11. Keeping your details safe

  • Shop only at giftmeadow.shop. Check the spelling of the address before you enter payment details.
  • We do not run sales through social media messages and do not take payment by phone.
  • Treat any email asking you to “re-confirm your card” for a Gift Meadow order as suspicious, and forward it to us.
  • Use a strong, unique password if you create an account, and sign out on shared computers.

12. What you see at each step of checkout

13. Receipts and invoices

Your order confirmation email works as your receipt: it lists the items, sizes, personalisation, prices, the free shipping line and the total charged. If you need a simple invoice with the business name — for example because a flag is a corporate housewarming gift for a colleague — email us with your order number and the name and address you want on it, and we will send one. We cannot add a tax line we did not charge.

14. Several orders, one delivery

Each order is paid for separately. If you placed two orders a few minutes apart — perhaps a family-name flag, then a stand you forgot — they may be prepared and shipped separately. Shipping is free either way, so nothing is lost. If you would like them sent together, email us within 24 hours of the first order and we will try to combine them; if they cannot be combined, both still ship free.

15. Disputes and duplicate charges

If you see two charges for one order, or an amount you do not recognise, email us first with your order number and the date and amount on your statement. Often a second line is a temporary authorisation hold from a declined attempt, which your bank releases by itself. If we did charge twice, we refund the duplicate straight away and confirm by email. Writing to us first does not limit your right to raise a dispute with your bank or provider later, but it is usually much faster.

16. Changes to this page

When a payment method goes live or changes, we update this page and the date at the top before we advertise it anywhere else on the site.

17. Questions about a payment

Email [email protected] with your order number (never your card number). We reply within 24 hours on business days. You may also find the answer in the FAQs or the Help Center, and our Privacy Policy explains what payment information we receive.
