Shipping & Delivery
Last updated:
This page explains how a Gift Meadow order gets from our printer’s table to your front step: how long we take to prepare it, where we deliver, what delivery costs (nothing), how long the journey usually takes, and what happens if a parcel goes astray. It applies to every order placed on giftmeadow.shop for our garden flags, doormats, yard signs and porch décor. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected] and we will answer within 24 hours on business days.
The short version
- Preparing your order: 1–3 business days after your order is placed.
- On the road: 7–14 business days to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
- Shipping cost: free on every order, with no minimum spend and no code to enter.
- Where from: orders ship from the USA.
- Where to: the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand only.
- Changes: address or wording changes are possible within 24 hours of ordering.
- Something wrong? Email us and we will work it out with you — see sections 8 and 9.
1. Before your parcel leaves us
Every flag, mat and sign is prepared after you order it. Once your order is placed, we need 1–3 business days to print it, pack it and hand it over for delivery. Business days are Monday to Friday, not counting US public holidays. An order placed on a Saturday afternoon therefore starts its 1–3 business days on Monday.
Personalised pieces — a family-name flag, a monogram doormat, a grandkids’ names flag, a house-number sign or a wedding-date mat — follow the same 1–3 business days. We print the words exactly as you typed them into the boxes on the product page, and we do not send a proof or mockup first, so the clock starts straight away. That is also why we keep a 24-hour window for wording changes (see section 5).
You receive an order confirmation email when you place the order. Please keep it: it holds your order number, the items, the sizes you chose and the personalisation text, which is the fastest way for us to help you later.
2. What delivery costs
Nothing. Shipping is free on every order to the four countries we serve, whether you buy a single set of coasters or a house flag, two doormats and a stand. There is no minimum order value, no coupon to type in and no “free over $X” rule. The total you see at checkout is the total for your items, with shipping at $0.00.
| Destination | Shipping cost | Preparing your order | Transit time | Typical total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United States | Free | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days | 8–17 business days |
| Canada | Free | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days | 8–17 business days |
| Australia | Free | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days | 8–17 business days |
| New Zealand | Free | 1–3 business days | 7–14 business days | 8–17 business days |
Transit times are estimates, not guaranteed dates. Weather, holiday volumes and border checks can add a few days, especially in late November and December. If a parcel is much later than the typical total above, follow the steps in section 8.
3. Where we deliver
We deliver to addresses in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. If you enter an address in any other country, checkout will not offer a shipping option and the order cannot be placed. We are a small shop and prefer to serve four countries well rather than many countries badly. If you live elsewhere and would like us to ship to you one day, tell us — it helps us plan.
Orders ship from the USA. Whether a particular parcel can go to a P.O. box, a military address, a parcel locker or a rural route depends on the carrier used for that parcel; if your address is one of these, email us before ordering and we will check for you rather than guess.
4. Planning around a date
Many of our pieces are bought for a day: a housewarming, a wedding, a birthday, a new baby coming home, or simply the first weekend of fall. Here is a simple way to plan.
- Count 3 business days for preparation (the longest end of 1–3).
- Add 14 business days for transit (the longest end of 7–14).
- Add a few spare days if your date falls near a public holiday or in December.
Example: your sister’s housewarming is on a Saturday three and a half weeks away. Ordering today on a weekday gives roughly 17 business days, which fits the longest estimate with a little room. If the party were only two weeks away, the flag might arrive on time, but we could not promise it — in that case, a printed card saying “your flag is on its way” is a kind backup.
Seasonal designs deserve the same thought. A pumpkin harvest flag ordered in the last week of October may arrive in mid-November; the snowy pines doormat is best ordered in November for a December porch.
5. Getting the address and the wording right
Please check your name, street, apartment or unit number, city, state, province or territory, and ZIP or postal code before you pay. When a gift is going straight to someone else, use their full name and address in the shipping fields and your own details for billing.
If you notice a mistake — a wrong house number, a missing apartment number, or a typo in the family name you want printed — email [email protected] within 24 hours of placing the order with your order number and the correction. Within that window we can change the address or the personalisation text for free. After 24 hours the item may already be printed, but write to us anyway: we will tell you honestly what can still be done. The full rules are on Cancel or Change an Order.
6. Following your parcel
When your order leaves us we email you to say it is on its way. If the carrier provides a tracking number for your parcel, we include it in that email so you can follow it on the carrier’s site. Some low-cost international services only show a few scans, and the first scan can take a day or two to appear. You can also look up your order status on our Order Tracking page with your order number and email address.
If you have not received a shipping email within 3 business days of ordering, check your spam or promotions folder, then email us and we will look up the order for you.
7. Orders with more than one item
A flag and a doormat, or a gift set, may be prepared at different printing stations and can arrive in separate parcels on different days. This is normal and never costs you extra. If one part arrives and the other is still on its way, compare the items with your order confirmation, and if something still seems missing after the typical delivery window, contact us — we will check where the second parcel is.
8. When a parcel is late, missing or marked delivered
Parcels sometimes take longer than the estimate. If your order is past the typical total in the table above and the tracking (if any) has not moved for several days, please email us with your order number. We will look into it with the carrier and keep you updated, and if the parcel cannot be found we will sort out a solution with you: a replacement or a refund. The exact waiting periods we use with each carrier are still being set, so we would rather handle each case personally than quote a number that may not fit your parcel.
If tracking shows “delivered” but you cannot find the parcel, have a quick look around: behind planters, under the porch bench, at the side or back door, with neighbours, in a building’s mail room or at the local post office. Flags and coasters come in slim packages that are easy to miss in a mailbox stuffed with catalogues. Still nothing after a day? Write to us and we will help.
9. When something arrives damaged or wrong
If a doormat arrives creased in a way that does not relax, a sign arrives bent, a flag shows a printing fault, or the personalisation does not match what you typed, take a few clear photos of the item, the problem and the shipping label, and email them to [email protected] with your order number. We will reply within 24 hours on business days with a replacement or a refund. Any photos you send us are deleted 30 days after the order (or the replacement) is delivered. More detail is on the Returns & Exchanges page.
10. Duties, taxes and prices
All prices on giftmeadow.shop are in US dollars. We do not add sales tax at checkout, so the total you see is the amount you pay us. For parcels going to Canada, Australia or New Zealand, any import duties, taxes or handling fees depend on the destination country’s rules and the value of the parcel; we cannot see or control those charges in advance. If you are sending a gift abroad and want to be sure the recipient is not surprised, ask us before ordering and we will tell you what we know about that destination.
11. Weather, holidays and peak season
Our working days follow US business days. Around Thanksgiving, the December holidays and the spring gardening rush, carriers carry more parcels than usual and transit can sit at the long end of 7–14 business days. Storms and border checks can add more. We do not add surcharges at busy times; we just ask you to order a little earlier for anything date-sensitive.
12. Sending a gift straight to someone else
Lots of our parcels go to a different address from the buyer’s: a family-name flag to a daughter’s first home, a “Nana’s Garden” flag to grandparents two states away, a welcome-baby sign to friends who have just come home from the hospital. To send a gift directly, type the recipient’s name and address in the shipping section at checkout and keep your own details in the billing section. Our emails about the order go to the email address you enter at checkout, so the surprise is not spoiled.
A few tips: add the recipient’s apartment or unit number, because missing unit numbers are the most common reason gifts are delayed; tell the recipient a parcel is coming if they live somewhere parcels are left outside; and if the gift is for a date, use the planning steps in section 4 so it does not arrive the day after.
13. Questions about delivery
